About URALYT-U Granulate

URALYT-U Granulate is alkaline citrate used as a remedy for urolithiasis. It is recommended in:

• Dissolving uric acid stones (kidney stones)

• Preventing the formation of new calcium and uric acid stones, or mixed calcium oxalate/uric acid or calcium oxalate/calcium phosphate stones

This treatment should only be used as part of an overall metaphylaxis concept, implemented through diet, increased fluid intake, etc.

URALYT-U Granulate - Treatment of kidney stones

To dissolve and prevent new kidney stones from forming, the recommended dose of URALYT-U is:

• 4 level-measured level scoop (equal to 10 grams of granules) daily, in the first 3 single servings after meals

• 1 level scoop in the morning and at lunchtime and 2 level scoops in the evening after a meal

The pH value of fresh urine during the treatment of kidney stones should be in the pH range 6.2 - 6.8. If the pH values are below this range, the daily dose should be increased by half a teaspoonful taken in the evening. If, on the other hand, the pH is above the specified range, the daily dose should be reduced by half a tablespoon in the evening.

The correct daily dose for you is found when the pH of fresh urine before taking the medicine is always within the specified range. For metaphylaxis of uric acid stones, regular monitoring of urine pH is recommended.

URALYT-U Granulate - kidney stone treatment prevention

To prevent the formation of new kidney stones containing calcium, the recommended dose of URALYT-U is:

• 2-3 level-level scoop (=5-7.5 g granules) taken in a single dose in the evening. If the pH value is too low, 3-4.5 level-measured tablespoons (=7.5-11.25 g granules) should be taken daily in 2-3 doses spread over the day after a meal.

A pH of 7.0 should be maintained during treatment. It should not fall below 6.2 or exceed 7.4. The pH or citrate should be monitored regularly and the individual dose adjusted accordingly.
