How do the ingredients of the medicine work?

The medicine consists of a combination of active ingredients. The active ingredient ethacridine has an antispasmodic effect and normalizes the increased movement of the bowel. It also has an antibacterial effect and reduces the permeability of the intestinal wall to fluids. This can counteract diarrhea. The active ingredient tannin gradually breaks down in the digestive tract. According to the manufacturer, the decomposition products cause the hair vessels, i.e. the finest branches of the blood vessels, in the mucous membrane to contract, making it more difficult for harmful substances to be absorbed into the stomach and intestinal mucous membrane. This also prevents the absorption of diarrhea-causing substances. The astringent properties of the active ingredient normalize irritated intestinal mucosa.

Wie wirken die Inhaltsstoffe des Arzneimittels?

Das Arzneimittel besteht aus einer Wirkstoffkombination. Der Wirkstoff Ethacridin normalisiert durch seine krampflösende Wirkung die gesteigerte Bewegung des Darmes. Er ist zudem antibakteriell wirksam und senkt die Durchlässigkeit der Darmwand für Flüssigkeiten. So kann einem Durchfall entgegengewirkt werden. Der Wirkstoff Tannin zerfällt nach und nach im Verdauungstrakt. Die Zerfallsprodukte bewirken nach Herstellerangaben, dass sich die Haargefäße, also die feinsten Aufzweigungen der Blutgefäße, in der Schleimhaut zusammenziehen und somit eine Aufnahme schädlicher Stoffe in die Magen- und Darmschleimhaut erschwert wird. Damit wird auch der Aufnahme durchfallauslösender Stoffe vorgebeugt. Durch die zusammenziehenden Eigenschaften des Wirkstoffes kommt es zu einer Normalisierung gereizter Darmschleimhaut.
