The total dose should not be exceeded without consulting a doctor or pharmacist.
How to use?
Apply the medicine to the affected skin area(s). Massage the medicine in afterwards. Avoid accidental contact with the eyes.
Duration of use?
Use should be continued for at least 1 week after the symptoms have disappeared. You should not use the medicine for longer than 2 weeks without medical advice if the symptoms have not improved after this time. The average duration of treatment is: for yeast infections: 2-3 weeks, for fungal skin infections 3-4 weeks, for athlete's foot up to 6 weeks.
Overdose?
If the medicine is used as described, no overdose symptoms are known. If large quantities are accidentally swallowed, consult a doctor immediately.
Have you forgotten to use it?
Resume normal use at the next prescribed time (i.e. do not double the amount).
As a general rule: Pay particular attention to a conscientious dosage for infants, small children and older people. If in doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist about any effects or precautions.
A dosage prescribed by a doctor may differ from the information on the package leaflet. As the doctor will adjust it individually, you should therefore use the medicine according to his instructions.

Mode of action NIZORAL 2% cream 30g
How does the active ingredient of the medicine work?
When applied externally, the active ingredient ketoconazole damages the outer shell, the so-called cell membrane, of fungi growing on the skin. This envelope thus loses some of its functions, e.g. it becomes more impermeable to nutrients - the cell starves. Depending on the concentration of active ingredient, the fungi are inhibited in their growth and reproduction or they die directly due to additional damage to the cell interior.

Contraindications NIZORAL 2% cream 30g
What speaks against use?
- Hypersensitivity to the ingredients
What about pregnancy and breastfeeding?
- Pregnancy: Consult your doctor. Various considerations play a role in whether and how the medicine can be used during pregnancy.
- Breastfeeding: The medicine should not be applied to the breast.
If you have been prescribed the medicine despite a contraindication, talk to your doctor or pharmacist. The therapeutic benefit may be greater than the risk associated with use in the case of a contraindication.

What adverse effects can occur?
- Hypersensitivity reactions of the skin, such as
- Skin irritation
- reddening of the skin
- itching
- Burning on the skin
- Inflammatory reactions of the skin
- Skin blisters
- Skin rash
- Scaling of the skin
- Drying of the skin
- Bleeding at the application site
- Pain at the application site
- Sensations of discomfort, such as tingling or formication
- Contact dermatitis (allergic skin reactions that only occur with repeated application)
- Water retention (oedema)
If you notice any discomfort or change during treatment, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

What should you bear in mind?
- The medicine must not be discontinued prematurely, as otherwise a (renewed) outbreak of the disease can be expected.
- Take care if you are allergic to fungicides (e.g. clotrimazole)!
- Emulsifiers (e.g. cetyl/stearyl alcohol) can cause skin irritation (e.g. contact dermatitis).
- Solvents (e.g. propylene glycol, E 477) can cause skin irritation.
