How the drug's active ingredient works'
.
The active ingredient contracts the dilated veins of the mucous membrane of the nose and eyeball. This reduces excessive blood flow to the organs of smell and sight and swells the mucous membrane. Patients can again breathe more freely through the nose. In addition, blood flow is no longer continuous. The annoying redness and nonspecific irritation of the eyes disappear.

What to watch for. - The medication itself can cause a stuffy nose. If you try to eliminate this feeling by using this product, you run the risk of permanently damaging the nasal mucosa. The effect may already be evident after 5-7 days of use.
- Preservatives (such as benzalkonium chloride) may cause swelling of the nasal mucosa with prolonged use. If such a reaction (persistent nasal congestion) is suspected, a nasal medicine without preservatives should be used.
- Drug interactions may occur. It is therefore necessary to inform your doctor or pharmacist of any other drugs you are already taking before starting a new treatment. This also applies to medicines you have bought yourself, that you use only occasionally or that you have been taking for a long time.
