NASENSPAY AL 0,05% can be used for rhinitis caused by colds, episodic runny nose (rhinitis vasomotorica) and allergic rhinitis (rhinitis allergica). NASENSPRAY AL 0,05% contains the drug xylometazoline, which provides for the decongestion of the nasal mucosa, facilitates breathing through and the drainage of secretions in sinusitis and in catarrh of the middle ear in connection with rhinitis.

Application of NASENSPRAY AL 0,05%:

For children between 2 to 6 years, if necessary, the spray can be used up to 3 times a day and for a maximum of one week.

How is it used?
Drip the medicine into each nostril. Clean your nose beforehand by blowing vigorously. Tilt your head back before applying the medicine. To prevent infection, the medication should only be used by one patient at a time.

Duration of use? The medication should not be used for more than 7 days. Reapplication should only take place after a break of a few days. For the duration of use in children, always ask your doctor.

Overdose? If the medication is used as described, there are no known symptoms of overdose. In case of accidental ingestion of large quantities, seek medical advice immediately. Nausea, fever, cramps, arrhythmia, hypertension, breathing difficulties, drowsiness and a drop in body temperature may occur.

Effect

How the active ingredient of the drug acts'

The active ingredient contracts the dilated veins of the mucous membrane of the nose and eyeball. This reduces excessive blood flow to the organs of smell and sight and swells the mucous membrane. Patients can again breathe more freely through the nose. In addition, the flow is no longer continuous. The annoying redness and non-specific irritation of the eyes disappear.

Das Arzneimittel sollte nicht länger als 5 Tage angewendet werden. Eine erneute Anwendung sollte erst nach einer Pause von mehreren Tagen erfolgen. Zur Anwendungsdauer bei Kindern sollten Sie grundsätzlich Ihren Arzt fragen.

Überdosierung?
Wird das Arzneimittel wie beschrieben angewendet, sind keine Überdosierungserscheinungen bekannt. Bei versehentlichem Verschlucken größerer Mengen, wenden Sie sich umgehend an einen Arzt. Es kann unter anderem zu Übelkeit, Fieber, Krämpfen, Herzrhythmusstörungen, Bluthochdruck, Atemstörungen, Schläfrigkeit sowie zur Erniedrigung der Körpertemperatur kommen.

Der Wirkstoff zieht die geweiteten Adern der Schleimhaut von Nase und Augapfel wieder zusammen. - Das Arzneimittel selbst kann zu einem Gefühl der verstopften Nase führen. Versucht man wiederum dieses Gefühl mit Hilfe dieses Mittels zu beseitigen, riskiert man, die Nasenschleimhaut dauerhaft zu schädigen. Der Effekt kann bereits nach einer Anwendung von 5-7 Tagen eintreten.
- Konservierungsstoffe (z.B. Benzalkoniumchlorid) können bei längerer Anwendung eine Schwellung der Nasenschleimhaut hervorrufen. Besteht ein Verdacht auf eine derartige Reaktion (anhaltend verstopfte Nase), sollte ein Arzneimittel zur Anwendung in der Nase ohne Konservierungsstoff verwendet werden .
- Es kann Arzneimittel geben, mit denen Wechselwirkungen auftreten. Sie sollten deswegen generell vor der Behandlung mit einem neuen Arzneimittel jedes andere, das Sie bereits anwenden, dem Arzt oder Apotheker angeben.
