MUCOSOLVAN inhalation solution for nebulizers - loosens stuck mucus in the airways and clears the bronchi

When used, the MUCOSOLVAN inhalation solution containing the active ingredient ambroxol can liquefy and loosen stuck-on, tough bronchial mucus so that it can be coughed up more easily. This clears the airways and bronchi of mucus and fights the cough. The MUCOSOLVAN inhalation solution is suitable for nebulizers and not for normal steam inhalation. These nebulizers are special inhalation devices that nebulize the aqueous solution they contain into very fine droplets and do not evaporate. Due to the very small droplet size and through inhalation, these mist droplets can then reach deep into the bronchi and have an effect there.

The total dose should not be exceeded without consulting a doctor or pharmacist.

How to use?
Prepare the medicine and inhale it. Use an appropriate device (e.g. nebuliser). Warm the medicine to body temperature beforehand. Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice on how to use the medicine. The medicine should only be used if it is safe to handle.

Duration of use?
You should not use the medicine for longer than 4-5 days without medical advice.

Overdose?
An overdose can lead to restlessness, vomiting, diarrhoea and a drop in blood pressure. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor immediately.

Forgotten application?
Continue the application as normal (i.e. not with twice the amount) at the next prescribed time.

How does the active ingredient in the medicine work?

The active ingredient loosens stuck mucus in the airways. The thick mucus becomes thinner and its adhesion to the mucous membranes of the bronchial tubes is reduced. This reduces mucus build-up and makes it easier to cough up.
Applied locally, the active ingredient can anaesthetise mucous membranes on the surface and thus alleviate a sore throat for a short time, for example.
