Loperamide is used for the short-term and symptomatic treatment of acute diarrhoea. The movement of the intestines is slowed down so that the excess water from the intestines passes back into the body. However, the capsules should not be taken for longer than 2 days without a doctor's advice.

How to use?
Take the medicine with liquid (e.g. 1 glass of water).

Duration of use?

First dose: Adults can take 2 capsules as a first dose.

Adults 1 capsule 1-6 times a day after each unformed stool
Maximum dose: A dose of 4 capsules per day for adolescents under 18 years of age should not be exceeded.

Ensure adequate replacement of fluids and salts (electrolytes), especially in children.

How does the active ingredient of the medicine work?

The active ingredient acts directly on receptors in the intestinal area. In this way, it can partially prevent intestinal movements that transport the intestinal contents further and thus reduce the urge to defecate and the frequency of stools. Loperamide also causes the sphincter muscle in the rectum to tighten.

- Diseases with slowed intestinal activity
- Intestinal obstruction

Der Wirkstoff greift direkt an Rezeptoren im Darmbereich an. So kann er Darmbewegungen, die den Darminhalt weitertransportieren teilweise verhindern und damit den Stuhldrang und die Stuhlfrequenz reduzieren. Zusätzlich bewirkt Loperamid im Enddarmbereich eine Muskelanspannung des Schließmuskels.

Was ist mit Schwangerschaft und Stillzeit?
