CHLORHEXAMED Fluid 0.1% with chlorhexidine - antiseptic mouthwash solution e.g. for gum inflammation

The CHLORHEXAMED Fluid 0.1% mouthwash solution contains chlorhexidine as an active ingredient. Due to its antiseptic and antibacterial properties, CHLORHEXAMED Fluid is used to briefly reduce the number of germs in the mouth and is therefore recommended for bacterial gum inflammation or to prevent inflammation in the mouth. The formation of new plaque is also reduced, as the plaque (dental plaque) consists largely of bacteria.

In addition, the mouthwash solution can be used if the ability to maintain oral hygiene is limited, for example due to braces.

Dosage of CHLORHEXAMED Fluid:

CHLORHEXAMED should be used short-term and ideally 5 minutes after brushing your teeth and after a meal.

Rinse twice a day (morning and evening) with 15 ml of solution for about 1 minute and then spit out.

The total dose should not be exceeded without consulting a doctor or pharmacist.

How to use?
Gargle with the medicine.
Or: Rinse the oral cavity with the medicine.
Allow the medicine to act for 1 minute. Then spit out the medicine and avoid swallowing it. Immediately before use, you should brush your teeth and rinse the oral cavity thoroughly to avoid discoloration of the teeth. The product should only be used if safe handling of the medicine is guaranteed.
For dentures: Rinse the object with the medicine. Leave it to act for 5 minutes. Avoid accidental contact with eyes or ears.

Duration of use?
You should not use the medicine for a prolonged period without medical advice.

Overdose?

How does the active ingredient in the medicine work?

The active ingredient kills various bacteria by destroying the cell wall of the microorganisms. In this way, it keeps the skin and mucous membranes germ-free, i.e. disinfects them. However, the effect diminishes after prolonged use.

- Caution in case of allergy to chlorhexidine!
- The medicine contains small amounts of alcohol and should therefore be avoided by alcoholics.
- Caution in case of allergy to dyes (e.g. tartrazine (E 102), yellow-orange S (E 110), azorubine (E 122), amaranth (E 123) and Ponceau 4R (E 124)).
- Caution in case of allergy to Peru balsam and cinnamon.
- Solubilizers (e.g. poly(oxyethylene) castor oils) may cause stomach upset and diarrhoea.
