Founded in 1921, Weleda AG is based in Schwäbisch Gmünd (near Göppingen) and has a second branch in Arlesheim, Switzerland. It was founded by a Dutch physician, an Austrian philosopher and a pharmacist from Munich and used anthroposophy as a source of inspiration.
Under the motto "in harmony with man and nature", the company sells holistic, natural, organic  cosmetics and medicines for anthroposophic therapies.
Weleda's products are designed to stimulate the body's healing powers. The company's product portfolio is very broad and includes products for the face, body, hair, allergies, colds, the nervous system, the digestive system and for heart and circulation.
